History & significance
At the close of the Dvapara age, Krishna rested under a pipal tree at Bhalka when the hunter Jara mistook his foot for a deer and loosed an arrow.
Krishna blessed the remorseful hunter and then walked to the confluence of the Hiran river, where he departed for his eternal abode — the spot marked at Dehotsarga.
The site is a short distance from the Somnath Jyotirlinga, making it part of a single pilgrim circuit.
