History & significance
Mayapur is revered as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the 15th-century saint who spread congregational chanting of Krishna's names.
Srila Prabhupada established the ISKCON campus here as the world headquarters of the movement he founded in New York in 1966.
The vast Temple of the Vedic Planetarium is being built on the campus, designed to be among the largest temples on earth.
