The Eighteen Days
Krishna carried no weapon, yet guided every turn of the great war.
Krishna had vowed not to fight, and he kept that vow — driving Arjuna's chariot, tending the horses' wounds each night, and counselling the Pandavas at every crisis.
His interventions were often uncomfortable: the darkening of the sun to draw out Jayadratha, the truth about Ashwatthama that broke Drona, the reminder that felled Karna. Each has been debated for centuries.
When the war ended, Gandhari, having lost a hundred sons, cursed him: his own clan would destroy itself as hers had. Krishna accepted the curse without defence.
